Professor Esteban Balbi Vázquez, Esq., practices law in the areas of Commercial Law, Banking Law, and Tax Law, also focused on the settlement of disputes through litigation for mediation in his speciality areas.

Mr. Balbi has taken part in complex business negotiations involving both commercial and tax related issues, and has been a direct party to the legal structuring of more effective business activities, including joint ventures, franchises, business corporations, shareholder’s agreements (syndicaation agreements), trusts, and various mechanisms for increased access to markets.

His practice includes deep experience in litigation, in particular in the defense of companies and individuals in business issues (contractual or corporate conflicts) and the defense of clients before administrative authorities and regulators, tax authorities, and the Court of Administrative Affairs.

Between 2002 and 2004 Mr. Balbi was an Assistant Professor of the Commercial Law Chair of the School of Law of the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCUDAL), and then a professor at UCUDAL’s School of Business Management. Since 2007 Professor Balbi has taught Tax Law to CPA students at UCUDAL, at both Montevideo and Punta del Este.
